THE RULES OF THE GAME
You found the Game Board. Now learn how to play it.
Game That Pays is not complicated.
But there is a difference between randomly buying a seven-dollar advertisement and actually playing the Game.
The basic pieces are:
- The Island — your Game Board.
- The Parking Spot — your advertising position.
- The Job — what you want that position to accomplish.
- Traffic Routes — how people reach the position.
- Tracking — how you learn what is creating activity.
- The Affiliate Program — another potential way qualifying activity can pay.
- Your next move — what you build after you learn something.
Those are the pieces.
Here are the rules.
RULE #1 — THE ISLAND IS THE GAME BOARD
Don’t start by asking:
“How do I make money?”
Start by asking:
“Where do I have something worth playing?”
- Cars?
- Housing?
- Travel?
- Running?
- Cool cars?
Something else as additional Islands open?
Start where you already know something, own something, sell something, do something or care about something.
Not sure which board fits you?
RULE #2 — YOUR FIRST MOVE IS A PARKING SPOT
A standard Parking Spot currently costs $7.
That gives you a full-page advertising and publishing position on the selected Island.
Depending on the Island and the subject, that page can include:
- photographs;
- writing;
- video embeds;
- links;
- contact information;
- a call to action;
- and other details that help the position do its job.
One Parking Spot is one move.
It is not the entire Game.
RULE #3 — GIVE THE POSITION A JOB
Don’t buy a Parking Spot just because it costs seven bucks.
Know what you want it to do.
Maybe its job is to:
- sell a car;
- generate a brokerage client;
- book a vacation rental;
- promote a business;
- sell a product;
- generate a lead;
- promote a service;
- send somebody to a YouTube or Rumble video;
- use an appropriate outside affiliate offer;
- introduce another player to the Game Board;
- or become one piece of a larger Channel.
A Parking Spot can have more than one job.
But if you don’t know what you’re trying to accomplish, you’re going to have a hard time keeping score.
THE FIRST CHALLENGE
You spent:
$7
Can you make that position produce more than seven dollars of measurable economic value?
That’s Level One.
RULE #4 — BUILD TRAFFIC ROUTES
A position nobody sees may not do much.
That’s where Traffic Routes come in.
You can use:
- Facebook;
- LinkedIn;
- X;
- YouTube;
- Rumble;
- Reddit;
- Google search;
- email;
- text;
- QR codes;
- your own website;
- groups;
- forums;
- or any other legitimate distribution method that fits what you’re doing.
Those platforms are not your Game Board.
They’re Traffic Routes that can move attention onto your Island.
You don’t have to hate social media.
I use it.
Just know what job it is doing.
RULE #5 — TRACK THE TRAFFIC WHEN YOU CAN
The Affiliate Software built into participating Islands allows affiliates to create tracked links and named campaigns.
Use them.
Suppose you’re sharing the same Cars Freak Parking Spot through several Traffic Routes.
You might create campaigns such as:
BMWFacebook
BMWLinkedIn
BMWX
BMWYouTube
Now you’re not just posting links.
You’re learning which Traffic Routes create activity.
That’s part of playing the Game.
RULE #6 — KEEP SCORE
You cannot improve a Game you refuse to measure.
Your score might include:
- Parking Spot cost;
- views;
- clicks;
- leads;
- calls;
- customers;
- bookings;
- sales;
- affiliate commissions;
- business revenue;
- new players;
- or anything else that matters to the job you gave the position.
You don’t have to share your score publicly.
Maybe you want everybody to know your seven-dollar Parking Spot generated $21 in affiliate commissions.
Maybe you don’t want anybody knowing the same page generated a $500 customer.
Fine.
Your score belongs to you.
RULE #7 — NOT EVERY MOVE WINS
This may be the most important rule on the page.
You can spend seven dollars and get:
NOTHING.
No customer.
No affiliate commission.
No meaningful traffic.
That move lost.
So what?
- Look at the position.
- Look at the offer.
- Look at the headline.
- Look at the photographs.
- Look at the Traffic Routes.
Improve it.
Or decide it was a bad move and make another one.
Game That Pays is not built around pretending every move wins.
It is built around learning how to make more of them win.
RULE #8 — BUILD. DON’T JUST POST.
One Parking Spot is useful.
But the Game gets more interesting when you keep building.
PARKING SPOT
One position.
PARKING LOT
Multiple positions.
PARKING GARAGE
A substantial collection connected to your profile.
PARKING CHANNEL
A growing body of useful advertising, media, stories, videos, offers and positions people can explore.
That’s the progression.
In the popular real-estate board game, buying the property is only the beginning.
You build on it.
Same idea here.
One Parking Spot a week becomes:
52 POSITIONS A YEAR.
At the current standard price:
52 × $7 = $364.
Then ask:
“What are my 52 positions actually doing?”
RULE #9 — THE GAME BOARD CAN PAY TOO
This is one of the rules that makes Game That Pays different from simply buying classified advertising somewhere else.
Your Parking Spot can advertise something that makes you money.
And the participating Game Boards have their own Multi-Tier Affiliate Program.
So somebody may see what you built and think:
“I want one of these.”
If they make a qualifying purchase through your properly tracked affiliate path, the Game Board can potentially pay you a commission.
The advertisement can advertise something that pays AND demonstrate the advertising system that can pay.
RULE #10 — JOINING THE AFFILIATE PROGRAM IS FREE
You do not earn because somebody merely joins.
Qualifying product purchases create the revenue.
The current affiliate structure on participating Game Boards is:
- 20% — Direct affiliate
- 15% — First connected position
- 10% — Second connected position
- 5% — Third connected position
- 5% — Fourth connected position
Those are connected positions in a properly tracked affiliate path.
They are not ranks.
The Affiliate Program is free to join.
- No required starter kit.
- No required autoship.
- No required inventory.
- No monthly personal-volume requirement just to unlock the basic commission structure.
- No group-volume requirement just to unlock the basic commission structure.
- No commission merely because another person signs up.
The product activity is what matters.

RULE #11 — PLAY SOLO OR BUILD A GUILD
You do not have to introduce anybody to play Game That Pays.
You can simply use your Parking Spots to:
- advertise;
- generate leads;
- sell things;
- build a Channel;
- or grow something you already operate.
That’s playing solo.
Or you can introduce other players.
Maybe you help five people learn how to play.
Maybe fifty.
Maybe considerably more.
If properly tracked qualifying product activity happens through those connected relationships, the Affiliate Program can potentially create commissions through multiple positions.
That’s your guild.
Small group?
Massive group?
No group at all?
Your Game.
RULE #12 — HELP YOUR ADVERTISERS WIN
This is another part of the Game I think matters.
If somebody you introduced builds a good Parking Spot, why would you stop helping them the second they paid for it?
I wouldn’t.
I might share their Parking Spot through my own Traffic Routes.
Maybe:
“Someone just parked this BMW on Cars Freak. Take a look.”
I can use a properly tracked affiliate URL pointing directly to that advertiser’s actual Parking Spot.
Now I’m:
- helping their advertisement get exposure;
- helping move their view counter;
- giving my audience something real to look at;
- demonstrating how the product works;
- and creating another tracked entry point into the Game.
The better their experience is, the more likely they may be to keep playing.
Another Parking Spot.
Another Island.
A Video Spotlight.
StoryDrive™.
Or maybe they introduce somebody else.
Helping your advertisers is part of good Game strategy.
RULE #13 — ADVANCED MOVES COST MORE FOR A REASON
You don’t need advanced products to start playing.
A standard $7 Parking Spot is enough to make your first move.
But eventually you may have a position worth pushing harder.
STORYDRIVE™ 1000 — CURRENTLY $299
Designed to add a guaranteed 1,000 views to the selected Parking Spot’s public view counter under the current StoryDrive terms.
VIDEO SPOTLIGHT — CURRENTLY $99
An additional video-oriented promotional product for selected positions under the current applicable product terms.
Both can also create qualifying affiliate commissions when properly attributed under the current Affiliate Program.
These are advanced moves.
Learn how to use the $7 piece first.
RULE #14 — PLAY ONE BOARD WELL BEFORE YOU TRY TO OWN THE WORLD
There are multiple Game Boards now.
More are coming.
Eventually there can be as many as 17 Freak Sites Islands, plus CoolCarGuy.com as its own separate Game Board.
That doesn’t mean you should build 18 empty Garages.
Make one Game work.
Learn:
- what people click;
- what advertisers buy;
- which Traffic Routes work;
- what kinds of positions create leads;
- what generates qualifying affiliate activity;
- and what is worth doing again.
Then take what you learned onto another Island.
ONE WORKING GAME → ANOTHER WORKING GAME → ANOTHER.
That’s how I would play it.
RULE #15 — AI IS A TOOL. YOU ARE THE PLAYER.
You can absolutely use AI.
I do.
But don’t ask AI to invent a fake life and fill your Game Board with generic garbage.
Bring something real.
- your car;
- your business;
- your trip;
- your product;
- your service;
- your experience;
- your opinion;
- your photographs;
- your actual objective.
Then use AI to help:
- edit;
- organize;
- critique;
- research;
- improve the headline;
- challenge the message;
- create or enhance images when appropriate;
- or build better Traffic Route material.
AI is the tool.
You are still responsible for what gets published.
RULE #16 — DON’T TRASH THE GAME BOARD
Every Island is curated and subject to its own categories, editorial standards and prohibited-content rules.
Basic rule:
If it doesn’t legitimately belong on that Island, don’t park it there.
And don’t use the Game as an excuse for:
- spam;
- fraud;
- illegal content;
- deceptive offers;
- misleading income claims;
- harassment;
- or material prohibited by the applicable Island.
Content can be rejected or removed when it doesn’t fit the board or violates current rules.
I want more players.
I don’t want a garbage dump.
RULE #17 — THERE IS NO REQUIRED MONTHLY GAME PLAY
A standard Parking Spot is not a mandatory monthly subscription.
You are not required to buy another one next month just to remain an affiliate.
You are not required to maintain an autoship.
You are not required to maintain inventory.
You can make:
one move;
one move a month;
one move a week;
or whatever makes sense for the Game you’re playing.
The 52-Move Challenge is a strategy.
It isn’t a requirement.
THE FINAL RULE
Don’t confuse going around the board with playing the Game.
You can spend years:
- posting;
- commenting;
- scrolling;
- collecting followers;
- chasing views;
- and helping somebody else’s platform grow.
Those things can be useful.
Use them as Traffic Routes.
But Game That Pays is about something different.
BUILD POSITIONS.
GIVE THEM JOBS.
CREATE TRAFFIC ROUTES.
KEEP SCORE.
HELP OTHER PLAYERS WIN.
MAKE ANOTHER MOVE.
THAT’S HOW YOU PLAY THE GAME THAT PAYS.
FOR THE LAWYERS
GameThatPays.com uses Game Board, property, Parking Spot, Parking Lot, Parking Garage, Channel, Traffic Route, Trade Route, guild, level, move and similar terminology as metaphors for online advertising, publishing, affiliate marketing and business strategy. A Parking Spot is an online advertising and publishing product. It is not real property, a security, an investment contract or an ownership interest in CoolCarGuy.com, Freak Sites or any related website or company.
No Parking Spot, Affiliate Program, Traffic Route, campaign, advertising strategy, StoryDrive™ purchase, Video Spotlight purchase or other Game strategy guarantees views, traffic, leads, customers, bookings, sales, commissions, profit or income. A participant may spend money and generate no economic return.
Affiliate commissions are generated only by qualifying purchases that are properly tracked and attributed under the applicable Affiliate Program terms. Pricing, commission percentages, connected positions, eligibility requirements, payout methods, tracking rules and other program terms may change.
Each Island is subject to its own current categories, editorial standards, prohibited-content rules and product terms. StoryDrive™ and Video Spotlight are optional products subject to their applicable current terms and availability.
